Brake here for fashion

Remember the beaten up bicycle you had as a child growing up? Well it has traded in the training wheels and gotten itself all spruced up. It now screams high-end luxury and flashes designer branding. It also comes at a price you may have to sell your summer wardrobe or current set of wheels for. The shameless use of monograms and logos on bicycles has cropped up as part of collection extensions from all the big names in recent years, and looks like a trend that is only just picking up pace.

Dressing for a music fest/concert

Sunshine, live music and free-flowing alcohol, with so many music fests and concerts taking place in and around the city in recent times, it’s important to know how to perfect that effortlessly chic style that is ideal for such events. Nothing compliments music better than fashion and nothing goes better with the relaxed, fun atmosphere than a sartorial style that is casually trendy yet practical.

It’s important to dress in airy clothes; an ideal choice would be a printed maxi or a dress with a belt. It’s a comfortable look that’s got flair. Another option would be a sheer tank with cute floral shorts.

Christian Louboutin - From red sole to red lips

The man who made the enviable red sole synonymous with his name is all set to explore the world of beauty and cosmetics. Frenchman and ‘King of Shoes’ as proclaimed by many, Christian Louboutin has partnered with New York based brand Batallure Beauty to launch his line of cosmetics Christian Louboutin Beauté next year thereby extending his reign from the shoe department to beauty counters around the world.

For the man who considers empowerment of women as his goal in life, this foray seems like an almost natural extension. It is believed that Queen Nefertiti serves as an inspiration to Louboutin for the new range.

Well, I think it would be interesting to see how the master shoemaker injects his magnanimous brand’s DNA into the new line of cosmetics (use of the signature red in packaging)? And for the Louby-loving ladies in Hollywood and in Bollywood....they will hopefully have a matching pout to complement the sole by the craftsman himself.

Full marks on creativity.

All Starr Jamm

All Starr Jamm

As someone who implements an event almost every alternate day, what I witnessed last night was magical. Gigs are a common sight, I agree. However what set apart the ALL STARR JAMM was an ingenious mash-up of ridiculously talented musicians who came together for the first time on stage. And of course it goes without saying that they had everyone tapping and grooving to their tunes whilst bonding over a drink or two. On that note, when was the last time you heard electro pop going into aalaps & then into reggae?

The ALL STARR JAMM is a monthly initiative by brands JACK & JONES/VERO MODA/ONLY in association with DADDY (Sameer Malhotra). MONICA & RANDOLPH of SHAAIR & FUNC jamming with ANKUR TEWARI & SIDD COUTTO of TOUGH & TOBACCO. And to support in attendance were ARONODAY SINGH, ADITI RAO HYDARI, VISHAL DADLANI, MOHAN (AGNEE fame), SHEFALI ALVARES, PRASAD NAIK, SHEETAL MALLAR, PIA TRIVEDI, MANDIRA BEDI, SHRUTI SETH & DANISH ASLAM, VJ JUHI & ANDY, YUDI, RIYAZ AMLANI, RAJEEV SAMANT, AD SINGH, NANDITA MAHTANI,  ROCKY S, NARENDRA KUMAR AHMED & many more causing a road block around the busy linking road store.
